For me, there is no greater honor than photographing a wedding, birthday, graduation… These are such special life events they beg to be recorded in an honorable way.I’m proud to have borne witness to many of these occasions and help preserve those special memories.
Portraiture
Photographing people is a lot more than just recording how they looked at a particular point in time. I don’t want to merely show what they look like; I want to show who they are.I am also proud to say that more often than not, I am able to do just that.
Concept
Occasionally I work on what might be called concept photography, where the subject is secondary to the message.I like the challenge of making a finished product that makes a strong statement, as does the one above.
Lifestyle
I enjoy photographing people doing things they love to do.It's a glimpse into another person’s life and one that helps me appreciate the diversity of how people enjoy themselves.( sounds lame but so true )
Nature
For this project I decided that I would photograph all new material that would be a thematically and stylistically consistent display of plants I see in local botanical gardens.My intention is to produce 20 images that are artistic yet recognizable.Click on this Pacific Northwest Flora to see how the project is going.
Travel
Every year my family and I go on vacation and of course I bring my camera along.When I photograph on these trips it's less about where I am as it is about capturing the memorable moments that always present themselves.
Detail
Last year I was on a tour of the Georgetown Steam Plant and was taken by the history and rugged beauty of the very well preserved machinery at the Plant.That first tour was quickly followed by another and I plan on coming again several times this year.
and just because...
sometimes I just like having fun.Or, as in the case above, in finding a humorous scene I accidentally photographed and discovered only after I got home.
